Keyboard shortcuts

Tylode has keyboard shortcuts for the things you do most often. This page lists all of them, grouped by where they work.

The tables use Windows and Linux keys. On a Mac, use Cmd instead of Ctrl and Option instead of Alt. For example, Ctrl+K is Cmd+K on Mac.

Global

These work anywhere in the app.

Shortcut	Action
`Ctrl`+`K`	Open or close search.
`Ctrl`+`J`	Open or close the assistant.
`↓` / `↑`	In search: move between results.
`Enter`	In search: open the highlighted result.
`Esc`	Close search, or close the Settings overlay.

Assistant

Shortcut	Action
`Ctrl`+`J`	Open or close the assistant from any screen.
`Enter`	Send your command to the assistant.
`Esc`	Close the assistant.

Editor

Shortcuts for writing in pages. See Writing in the editor and Block reference.

Insert blocks

Shortcut	Action
`/`	Open the slash menu to insert any block. Keep typing to filter it.
`:` followed by a word	Open the emoji picker, for example `:smile`.
`Tab`	Nest the block under the one above (indent).
`Shift`+`Tab`	Un-nest the block (outdent).

Format text

Shortcut	Action
`Ctrl`+`B`	Bold
`Ctrl`+`I`	Italic
`Ctrl`+`U`	Underline
`Ctrl`+`Shift`+`S`	Strikethrough
`Ctrl`+`E`	Inline code
`Ctrl`+`Z`	Undo
`Ctrl`+`Y` or `Ctrl`+`Shift`+`Z`	Redo

To add a link, select the text and use the link button in the formatting toolbar. (Ctrl+K opens search, even inside the editor.) Colors and alignment are also in the toolbar.

Change the block type

Put the cursor in a block and press:

`Ctrl`+`Alt`+`C`	Code block

`Ctrl`+`Shift`+`8`	Bullet list

The slash menu shows these shortcuts next to each block type, so you can learn them as you go.

Markdown shortcuts

Type these at the start of an empty line:

Comments

`Enter`	Send the comment or reply.
`Shift`+`Enter`	New line in a comment.

`Delete` or `Backspace`	Delete the selected items or connector.
`Ctrl`+`C`	Copy the selection.
`Ctrl`+`X`	Cut the selection.
`Ctrl`+`V`	Paste.
`Ctrl`+`D`	Duplicate the selection.
`Ctrl`+`Z`	Undo
`Ctrl`+`Shift`+`Z` or `Ctrl`+`Y`	Redo
`Shift`+click	Add an item to the selection, or remove it.
`Shift`+drag on empty space	Add a box selection to the current selection.
Double-click	Edit the text of a note or text item.
`Space`+drag	Pan the canvas. Dragging with the middle mouse button also pans.
Mouse wheel	Zoom in and out.
`Ctrl`+scroll, or pinch on a trackpad	Zoom in and out.
Two-finger scroll on a trackpad	Pan the canvas.
`Ctrl`+`+` / `Ctrl`+`-`	Zoom in / out.
`Ctrl`+`0`	Back to 100%.
`Shift`+`1`	Fit to all content.

Keyboard shortcuts are ignored while you're typing in a note or text item.

Studio

In the Studio editor. Press ?, or the ? in the top bar, to see these shortcuts inside the editor. See Studio.

`Ctrl`+`Z`	Undo.
`Ctrl`+`Shift`+`Z` or `Ctrl`+`Y`	Redo.
`Ctrl`+`C` / `Ctrl`+`X` / `Ctrl`+`V`	Copy, cut and paste elements.
`Ctrl`+`D`	Duplicate the selection.
`Alt`+drag	Move a copy and leave the original where it was.
`Delete` or `Backspace`	Delete the selection.
`T`	Add text.
`Ctrl`+`A`	Select every element on the current page or slide.
`Shift`+click	Add an element to the selection, or remove it.
`Tab` / `Shift`+`Tab`	Select the next or previous element.
`Ctrl`+`G`	Group.
`Ctrl`+`Shift`+`G`	Ungroup.
`Ctrl`+`]` / `Ctrl`+`[`	Bring forward / send backward.
`Ctrl`+`Shift`+`]` / `Ctrl`+`Shift`+`[`	Bring to front / send to back.
`Ctrl`+`Shift`+`L`	Lock or unlock.
Arrow keys	Nudge the selection 1 px.
`Shift`+arrow keys	Nudge the selection 10 px.
`Shift` while resizing	Keep or free the proportions.
`Alt` while resizing	Resize from the center.
`Shift` while rotating	Rotate in 15° steps.
`Ctrl`+`=` (or `Ctrl`+`+`)	Zoom in.
`Ctrl`+`-`	Zoom out.
`Ctrl`+`0`	Fit the page to the window.
`Esc`	Leave the group you're editing, or clear the selection.
`?`	Show the shortcuts cheat sheet.

Present mode

`←`	Previous slide
Mouse wheel or trackpad swipe	Next or previous slide
`Esc`	Stop presenting

In the presenter view window, →, Space and ← also move between slides.

Boards

Shortcut	Action
`Esc`	Close the open card.
`Enter`	In the card editor: add the label you've typed, or add a new option to a select field.
`Enter` / `Esc`	While renaming a board or whiteboard from its list (⋯ → Rename): save the new name / cancel.

Calendar

Chats and Mail

`Enter`	When composing mail: add the email address you've typed to the recipients.
