Plans and billing
Manage your subscription
Everything about your plan lives in Settings → Billing → Plan and payments: subscribing, changing plan and opening the billing portal for invoices, your card and cancellation. Your subscription belongs to your account, so you manage it yourself whatever workspace you're in.
Open it from the user menu (Settings → Billing → Plan and payments) or go straight to app.tylode.com/dashboard/settings/billing. Payments are processed by Stripe.
Subscribe to Pro or Premium
- Go to Settings → Billing → Plan and payments.
- At the top, choose Monthly or Yearly (marked −20%). Yearly prices are shown per month, with the total below, for example "€96 per year, paid once".
- On the Pro or Premium card, click Upgrade to Pro or Upgrade to Premium.
- You're taken to Stripe's secure checkout. Enter your card details and pay.
- Promotion code: if you have one, enter it in the checkout's promotion code field before paying.
- Businesses: if you're buying for a business in another EU country, enter your VAT number during checkout; the reverse charge then applies instead of VAT.
- Next to the pay button you'll see that, by paying, you accept the Terms and ask for the service to start right away, and that you can withdraw within 14 days.
- When the payment goes through, you're back in Billing with "All set! Your account is now on the Pro plan." If you close the checkout instead, you'll see "Payment canceled. You can try again whenever you like."
The new plan applies at once to your account, and to every workspace you own (a workspace takes the best plan among its owners). See Plans are per person.
Change plan
Once you have a subscription, the other cards show Switch to Pro or Switch to Premium. Clicking it doesn't change anything yet: Tylode first calculates the exact amount and shows it in a confirmation dialog.
Upgrade
Moving to a higher plan (Pro → Premium) applies immediately. The card notes "Applies now: you only pay the difference for the rest of the period."
- Click Switch to Premium.
- The dialog shows the exact amount, for example: "You'll pay €8.37 now for the rest of the period, then €19.95 per month. VAT included." The amount includes the prorated difference and any discount you have.
- Click Confirm and pay, or Cancel to leave everything as it was.
The amount is charged to your saved card. If your bank asks you to confirm the payment, you're taken to a Stripe payment page to complete it; the plan changes once the payment is confirmed.
Downgrade
Moving to a lower plan (Premium → Pro) applies at the end of the period you've already paid for. The card notes "Applies when your current period ends. You keep your plan until then."
- Click Switch to Pro.
- The dialog says: "You keep your current plan until 30 October 2026. After that you'll move to Pro for €9.95 per month. Nothing is charged today."
- Click Confirm change.
Your current plan's card then shows "You'll switch to Pro on 30 October 2026. Until then you keep everything." To undo it, click Keep Premium before that date.
Switch between monthly and yearly
The Monthly / Yearly switch at the top of Billing changes the prices and the plan you'd move to:
- A higher plan is always an upgrade, whatever the billing period: Pro monthly → Premium yearly applies immediately, with the prorated amount shown in the dialog.
- A lower plan is always a downgrade and waits until the end of the period.
The card of the plan you already have shows Current plan without a switch button. To change only the billing period of your current plan (for example, Pro monthly to Pro yearly), write to support@tylode.com.
There's no button to move to Free: you do that by cancelling.
Cancel your subscription
- Go to Settings → Billing → Plan and payments and click Manage subscription.
- The Stripe billing portal opens. Cancel the subscription there.
- Back in Billing, your plan shows "Canceled: ends on 30 October 2026. Until then you have all of it."
You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for. After that your account moves to Free:
- Nothing is deleted. Anything over the Free limits stays, but you can't add more until you're under the limit.
- If you're in more workspaces than Free allows, the extra ones are frozen. See Frozen workspaces.
If you change your mind before the end date, renew the subscription from Manage subscription. Choosing another plan in Billing also removes the pending cancellation.
Invoices and payment method
Click Manage subscription in Settings → Billing → Plan and payments to open the Stripe billing portal. There you can:
- Update your card or payment method.
- See and download your invoices.
- Update your billing details.
- Cancel the subscription.
Manage subscription only appears when you have a paid plan.
Failed payments
If a renewal can't be charged:
- You keep your plan while Stripe retries the payment over the following days.
- A banner appears on every screen: "We couldn't charge your Pro plan. Update your payment method to keep it." Click Update payment method to open the billing portal and change your card.
- If the payment still fails after the retries, your account moves to Free. Nothing is deleted, and the usual rules for going over the Free limits apply.
Refunds and the 14-day withdrawal right
- Within 14 days of subscribing, if you're a consumer, you can withdraw without giving a reason. Write to support@tylode.com and we'll refund the part of the period you haven't used.
- After those 14 days, there are no refunds for periods that have already started, except for billing errors or a failure on Tylode's side.
- Downgrades and cancellations don't generate refunds: you keep what you paid for until the end of the period.
The full conditions are in the Terms.
Courtesy plans
Some accounts receive a Pro or Premium plan from Tylode. In Billing, the plan shows "Granted by Tylode. You're not charged anything." There's no subscription behind it, so Manage subscription doesn't appear. If you later subscribe yourself, your paid subscription replaces the courtesy plan.
Who pays in a team
Each person pays for their own plan; there are no per-seat subscriptions and nobody can pay for someone else's account.
- A workspace takes the best plan among its owners. For a small team, it's usually enough for the owner to have Pro or Premium.
- A Pro or Premium workspace can include up to 2 Free accounts. Anyone else who joins needs their own Pro or Premium plan.
- Personal things (AI credits, Studio features, the API) always follow each person's own plan.
See Plans and pricing for examples, and Members to make someone an owner.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Free plan expire?
No. Free has no end date, doesn't ask for a card and includes unlimited pages.
Are prices shown with VAT?
Yes, prices include VAT. Businesses in another EU country with a valid VAT number can enter it at checkout and the reverse charge applies.
Can I get a refund if I downgrade in the middle of the period?
No. A downgrade waits until the end of the period you've paid for, and you keep the higher plan until then. The only refunds are the 14-day withdrawal right and billing errors.
Will I be warned before a yearly renewal?
Yes. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, and we let you know before renewing yearly plans.
What happens to my workspaces if I stop paying?
Your account moves to Free. Your own workspace usually stays active and other workspaces may be frozen, but nothing is deleted. See Limits and what happens when you reach them.
