Pages and editor
Exporting pages
You can take any page out of Tylode as a Markdown file or as a PDF, for example to send it to someone outside your workspace, archive it or print it. Both options are in the ⋯ (More options) menu at the top right of every page.
Export to Markdown
- Open the page.
- Click ⋯ (More options) at the top right and choose Export .md.
Your browser downloads a file named after the page title (for example, Meeting notes.md), or Untitled.md if the page has no title.
Markdown is plain text, so some things don't survive the trip:
- Text and background colors, underline and text alignment are lost.
- Images, videos and files are kept as links to the uploaded file, not as the files themselves.
- Tylode blocks (Database, Board, Whiteboard, Calendar, Poll, Voice channel, Index and Embed) don't export in a usable form. If the page has any, export it to PDF instead.
Headings, lists, check lists, quotes, code, tables, bold, italic, strikethrough and links come through as standard Markdown, ready to open in any Markdown editor or to import into another tool.
Export to PDF
- Open the page.
- Click ⋯ (More options) at the top right and choose Export PDF. Tylode first gathers the content of databases, boards and polls, which can take a moment.
- Choose where to save it and what to call it, then click Save. Some browsers save it straight to your downloads folder.
The PDF has A4 pages, with the page title as a heading and the page number at the bottom. Pages break between blocks: a heading is never left alone at the bottom of a page, and a long table continues on the next page without splitting a row. Each page is an image, but you can still search and copy the text.
With subpages
If the page has subpages, you choose what to download before saving:
- Only this page.
- With all its subpages: all of them, at any depth.
- Choose subpages: check the ones you want. Checking or unchecking a page does the same to its own subpages.
Everything goes into a single PDF, in the order of the page tree. It starts with a Contents page showing where each page begins, and each page starts on a new sheet.
If the page is a dashboard page, the PDF and the Markdown include the main text first and then each text magnet's text, in reading order (top to bottom, left to right), separated by a line. The clock, standalone images and the sections box aren't exported.
How each block prints
| Block | In the PDF |
|---|---|
| Text, headings, lists, quotes, code, tables, dividers | As they look on the page |
| Images | The image |
| Database | The full table with all its columns and rows. View filters and sorting aren't applied. |
| Board | The board name, then each list with its cards and their due dates |
| Poll | The question and each option with its number of votes |
| Embed | A link to the embedded content |
| Whiteboard | A short note that it isn't exported to PDF; open it in Tylode |
| Calendar | A short note that it isn't exported to PDF; open it in Tylode |
| Voice channel | A short note that it isn't exported |
| Index | A short note that the list of subpages is generated when the page is opened in Tylode |
If you can't access an embedded database or board, the PDF shows a note that it couldn't be read instead of its content.

Export everything at once
There's no option to export a whole workspace in one go. If you need a full export, write to support@tylode.com.
If you're comfortable with code, you can also read all your pages, including their content as block JSON, with the REST API. See Pages API.
