Block and report
If someone bothers you on Tylode, you can block them to stop receiving anything from them, and report them so the Tylode team reviews it. Both are in the same menu, and you can do one, the other or both.
Where to find them
Both options are in each person's ⋯ menu (Options for {name}):
| Where | How to get there |
|---|---|
| Chats | Open the conversation and press ⋯ at the top right, next to the name. |
| Voice channel chat | Hover over the message and press ⋯ (on mobile it's always visible). |
| Friends | On the Friends page, press ⋯ next to the person or their request. |
Block someone
- In the person's ⋯ menu, press Block {name}.
- Read what will happen and press Block.
When you block someone:
- They can't message you in chat or send you a friend request, and you stop being friends.
- You stop seeing their messages in channels and mail, and their notifications.
- Your private chat disappears from both of your lists.
- They aren't notified.
Blocking works on the web, in the desktop app and in the iPhone app. In a voice call you stop hearing and seeing the person you blocked (they stay in the room for everyone else), and in a group chat you don't see when they're typing. What it doesn't cover: if you're both in the same workspace, you still see each other's profile.
Report someone
Report a person if they harass or threaten you, send sexual, violent or offensive content, spam or scams, share someone's personal data or put a minor at risk.
- In the person's ⋯ menu, press Report {name}.
- Choose the reason.
- If you want, add details in Tell us more (optional).
- Also block this person is checked. Uncheck it if you only want to report.
- Press Send report.
You'll see "Report sent. Thank you: we'll review it.". The report reaches the Tylode team with the message you're reporting and, in a private chat, that person's latest messages. Only what you could already see is sent.
The person you report isn't told who reported them. If they break the Terms, we remove the content or suspend their account.
See and unblock the people you've blocked
- Open Settings and go to Privacy and security → Privacy.
- Blocked users lists the people you've blocked.
- Press Unblock next to someone to undo it.
Unblocking someone doesn't bring back your friendship: if you both want it, one of you has to send a new request.
