Pages and editor
Version history
Tylode keeps earlier versions of every page automatically, so you can bring back content that was deleted or changed by mistake, whether you did it or someone else did.
How versions are saved
You don't need to do anything. While a page is being edited, Tylode saves a version of its content automatically, at most once every 5 minutes, and only when the content has actually changed. A page nobody touches doesn't pile up versions.
Each version records the page's content at that moment, when it was saved and who made the change.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Versions store the page's content, not its title.
- Databases, boards, polls and other Tylode blocks are saved as blocks on the page, but the data inside them (rows, cards, votes) isn't part of the page's history.
- Because versions are at most 5 minutes apart, the very latest edits may not be in a version yet.
Open the history
- Open the page.
- Click the clock icon (History) at the top right of the page, next to Share.
The Version history window lists the saved versions, newest first, each with its date and time and the name of the person who made the change. If none have been saved yet, it tells you one will be created automatically as you edit.
Restore a version
Click Restore next to the version you want. The page content is replaced by that version straight away, for everyone who has the page open, and the change is saved like any other edit. The button briefly shows Restored.
On a dashboard page, the version also saves the magnets: restoring it brings back the ones that were there, in place, with their color and text, and removes the ones added later.
Restoring doesn't remove newer versions: they stay in the list, so if you picked the wrong one you can restore a different one.
How long versions are kept
How far back you can see depends on the workspace's plan:
| Plan | History you can see |
|---|---|
| Free | Last 7 days |
| Pro Pro | Last 90 days |
| Premium Premium | Unlimited |
On Free and Pro the window shows a note such as "Your plan keeps 7 days of history. Older versions are still there and will show up again if you change plans." Older versions aren't deleted: they're hidden, and they become visible again if the workspace moves to a plan with a longer history.
The workspace's plan is the best plan among its owners. See Plans and Plan limits, or compare prices at tylode.com/precios.
