Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the questions we hear most. Each one links to the page with the full details.
Account
How do I create an account?
Go to app.tylode.com/signup, fill in your name, email and password, and confirm your email with the link we send you. You can also click Continue with Google. See Quickstart.
Can I change the email address of my account?
Not from the app: your email is shown read-only in Settings → Account. Write to support@tylode.com from your current address and we'll help. You can change your name there at any time. See Your account.
Can I use Tylode in my language?
Yes. Tylode is available in 13 languages. Change it in Settings → General → Language; the choice is saved to your account and follows you to every device. See Your account.
Plans and billing
Does the Free plan expire?
No. Free has no time limit and includes unlimited pages. You only pay if you want the extras of Pro or Premium. See Plans.
How much do Pro and Premium cost?
Pro costs €9.95 a month or €96 a year. Premium costs €19.95 a month or €192 a year. Paying yearly saves about 20%. Prices include VAT. See pricing.
How do I change or cancel my plan?
Go to Settings → Billing → Plan and payments. Upgrades apply straight away and you pay the prorated difference; downgrades apply at the end of your billing period. To cancel, click Manage subscription and cancel in the subscription portal: you keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for. Your content is never deleted. See Manage your subscription.
Can I get a refund?
You can withdraw within 14 days of paying and we'll refund the part you haven't used. After those 14 days there are no refunds, but you can cancel at any time so you aren't charged again. See Manage your subscription.
Is VAT included? Can I get an invoice?
Prices include VAT. If you're a business in the EU, you can enter your VAT number at checkout. Invoices and your payment method are in the subscription portal, under Settings → Billing → Plan and payments → Manage subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe.
How do plans work with a team?
Plans belong to people, not workspaces. Each workspace automatically gets the best plan among its owners, which sets shared limits like members and storage. A Pro or Premium workspace can include up to two members on the Free plan; anyone else who joins needs their own Pro or Premium plan. See Key concepts and Limits by plan.
Workspaces and members
How many workspaces can I have?
You can be in 1 workspace on Free, 3 on Pro and as many as you like on Premium. This counts workspaces you own and ones you've joined. See Workspaces.
How do I invite someone?
Owners and admins click the workspace name at the top of the sidebar, choose Members, type the person's email, choose a role and click Invite. They don't need an account yet. See Members, roles and teams.
Can I invite guests from outside the workspace?
No. Everyone who sees a workspace's content is a member of it. To give someone read access only, invite them with the Read-only role. See Members, roles and teams.
Can I leave or delete a workspace?
Deleting, yes: an owner deletes it from Settings → Workspace → Workspace details, typing DELETE to confirm. It's permanent and for every member. Leaving, too: from Settings → Workspace → Leave workspace (if you're the only owner, make someone else an owner first). To hand a workspace over, make someone else an owner and then change your own role. See Workspaces.
Why is my workspace frozen?
You're in more workspaces than your plan allows, usually after moving to a lower plan. A frozen workspace is read-only until you upgrade or go back to it and freeze a different one instead. See Troubleshooting.
Data and privacy
Where is my data stored?
In the European Union, in Ireland. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. See the security page.
How do I delete my account?
In Settings → Account → Delete your account. It's deleted for good, and if you pay for a subscription it's cancelled right away. See Your account.
Can I export my data?
Yes, item by item: pages as Markdown or PDF, Studio designs as PDF, PNG or PowerPoint (Pro), and whiteboards as PNG or PDF. You can download any file from My drive. There's no one-click export of everything yet; if you need a full copy, write to privacy@tylode.com. See Exporting pages.
Features
Does Tylode work offline?
Partly. If you lose your connection while writing in a page or notebook, you can keep going: what you write is saved on your device and uploads when you're back. And in the desktop app and the browser you can open Tylode offline with what was saved: the pages you opened (and keep writing in the ones you can edit), their databases, their boards and your calendar (where you can also change cells, move cards and create events). With Pro and Premium, also your favorites and recent pages, even if you didn't open them on that device. Chat, voice, new images and adding rows or columns to a database need a connection. See If you lose your connection.
Is there a desktop app?
Yes, for Windows and for Macs with Apple silicon (macOS 13 or later). It stays in the system tray or the menu bar, sends system notifications and updates itself. Download it from the downloads page and see Desktop app.
On any other computer or on your phone, you can install Tylode as an app from Chrome, Edge or Safari: it opens in its own window and shows unread badges.
Can I publish a page on the web?
Yes. Open Share on the page and turn on Publish to the web: anyone with the link can view it without an account and without editing it, and, if you allow it, duplicate it to their Tylode. Only the person who created the page and workspace admins can publish it. See Publish to the web.
Does Tylode support single sign-on (SSO)?
No. You can sign in with email and password or with Google.
Does Tylode send email notifications?
Not yet. Mentions, replies, assigned cards and shared pages appear in Activity, the bell in the top bar, and the installed app shows an unread badge. Emails are only sent for invitations and account security. See Notifications.
Developers
Is there an API?
Yes, a REST API at https://app.tylode.com/api/v1. It needs a personal access token, which requires the Pro plan, and every request acts as you. You can make up to 60 requests per minute. See Developer platform.
Can I connect Tylode to Claude, Cursor or other AI tools?
Yes, through the MCP server at https://app.tylode.com/api/mcp with a personal access token (Pro). See MCP server.
Can Tylode notify my other tools when something changes?
Yes, with webhooks, in workspaces on the Pro plan or higher. They can post straight into a Slack channel. See Webhooks.
