Pages and editor
Templates
Templates give you a head start: a ready-made page with subpages, databases, sample rows and views already set up. Use one of Tylode's built-in templates, or save any page of your own as a template to reuse its structure.
The Templates page
Open it from the Templates button in the header of the Pages section of the sidebar, or from the Templates button under the greeting on Home.
The page has two parts:
- Tylode templates: the built-in templates that come with the app. Filter them with the chips at the top: All, Students, Businesses and teams, Finance and Personal.
- Your templates: pages from your workspace that someone saved as templates.
To use a template, click Use on its card. The button shows Creating… for a moment, and then the new page opens. It's created at the top level of the page tree.
Tylode templates
Each built-in template creates a main page and, depending on the template, subpages, one or more databases with sample rows (with dates relative to today, so they look current), and views such as kanban, calendar, timeline and charts.
Four of them start as a dashboard page, with a cover and colored magnets already in place: Course organizer, Project management, Financial dashboard and Personal home page. Move everything around as you like afterwards.
Students
| Template | What you get |
|---|---|
| Course organizer | Your courses with instructor, schedule and credits, a grades table and a GPA that calculates itself, plus a subpage per course. |
| Class notes | A notes database by course and date, with what's left to review, in table, kanban and calendar views, plus an example note. |

| Inventory | Products with stock levels, a reorder alert, stock value and margin. |
| Financial dashboard | Revenue and expenses in charts, with the metrics worth checking every month. |
Finances: Expenses and income
The Finances card (subtitle Expenses and income, shown under All and Finance) creates a simpler page: one table where you log both expenses and income, with columns for date, concept, type (expense or income), category and amount, and three sample rows. It's also what the welcome setup creates if you pick Expenses and income. Its content follows the same rule.
Personal
| Template | What you get |
|---|---|
| Weekly planner | Three goals for the week, tasks spread across the days on a board, and a short Friday review. |
| Habit tracker | One checkbox per habit per day, and charts that show whether you're improving. |
| Travel planner | A trip with subpages for the day-by-day itinerary, budget, bookings and packing list. |
| Job search | Every application with its status, next step and how long you've been waiting, plus interview prep. |
| Yearly goals | Goals broken into milestones, with calculated progress and a timeline. |
| Recipes and grocery list | Recipes with time, servings and ingredients, and a grocery list sorted by aisle. |
| Personal home page | A page to start your day: today's tasks, your schedule, quick notes and shortcuts. |
Templates and your plan
Many templates include formula, relation and rollup columns. Creating those columns yourself is part of Pro, but a template's own columns arrive complete on every plan, including Free: you can use them, rename them and change their formula. What needs Pro is adding new columns of those types or converting another column into one. See Formulas and Relations and rollups.
Using a template is never blocked by your plan's database limit, but the databases it creates count toward that limit when you later create new ones yourself. See Plan limits.
Your templates
Any page can become a template for your workspace.
Save a page as a template
- Open the page.
- Click ⋯ (More options) at the top right and choose Save as template. A Template badge appears next to the save status.
The page leaves the sidebar and Home's recent pages and appears under Your templates on the Templates page, for everyone in the workspace. To take it out of templates, open it and choose ⋯ → Remove from templates, or click Remove on its card: the page goes back to the sidebar. Nothing is deleted.
To edit a template, remove it from templates, make your changes and save it as a template again.
Use one of your templates
Click Use on its card. Tylode creates a new top-level page with the template's title, icon and content, and opens it.
- Subpages of the template aren't copied.
- Tylode blocks are copied as links to the same thing: a Database, Board or Poll block in the copy shows the same database, board or poll as the template, not a new one.
If there are none yet, the section says No templates yet. Open a page and use "Save as template" to add the first one.
Other templates
- Marketplace templates: if you publish a dashboard page, it travels whole, with its magnets, its databases and its cover, and whoever uses it gets it the same way.
- Whiteboard templates: save a whiteboard as a template and reuse it. See Whiteboards.
- Studio templates: presentations, documents, CVs and more, plus your own. See Studio.
