Pages and editor
Trash
Deleting a page in Tylode doesn't erase it straight away: it goes to the workspace's trash, where you can bring it back until it's deleted forever, either by hand or automatically after the retention period.
Move a page to the trash
- In the sidebar, hover over the page and click ⋯.
- Choose Move to trash. If the page has subpages, the option tells you how many it takes with it.
- Confirm.
The page and all its subpages go to the trash together. They disappear from the sidebar, search and Index blocks. If you had the page open, you're taken back to Home.
The Trash page
Open it with the Trash button in the header of the Pages section of the sidebar. It lists the pages deleted from the current workspace, most recent first, each with how long it's been there (for example, "Moved to trash 3 days ago"). If there's nothing, it says The trash is empty.
Restore a page
Click Restore next to the page. It goes back to the sidebar where it was, and its subpages come back with it.
If the page's parent is still in the trash, the restored page is placed at the top level of the sidebar so you can find it.
Delete a page forever
- Click Delete forever next to the page.
- The button changes to Click again: it will be deleted forever, along with its subpages. Click it again within 3 seconds to confirm.
This permanently deletes the page, its subpages and the databases inside them. It can't be undone, and it isn't recoverable from Version history either.
How long the trash keeps pages
Pages in the trash are deleted automatically once they've been there for the retention period. By default that's 30 days.
Workspace owners and admins can change it:
- Open Settings → Workspace → Workspace details.
- Under Trash, pick a value in Trash retention: 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, 1 year or Never.
The change saves as soon as you pick it. With Never, pages stay in the trash until someone deletes them by hand.
Every automatic deletion is recorded in the workspace's audit log, which owners and admins can read on Premium. See Security.
Other trashes
- My drive has its own trash for your personal files, folders and presentations, with its own Restore and Delete forever. See My drive.
- Deleted boards and whiteboards appear on this same page, in their own section, with Restore and Delete forever, and are deleted automatically after the same period as pages. Only the person who created them and admins see them. Restoring one can't take you over your plan's board or whiteboard limit. See Boards and Whiteboards.
